We are starting the implementation of the Polish Aid project in Tanzania.

We are pleased to announce that as a result of the competition procedure of the Polish Aid program financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland, the Science for Development Foundation received a grant for the implementation of the project entitled: “Improving the quality of education of young people in the field of milk processing in Tanzania by improving teaching conditions – establishing a Center of Excellence”. The beneficiary of the project is the Livestock Training Agency in Tengeru. The main objective of the project is to increase the potential of the institution educating young people in the field of agriculture, production and milk processing in Tanzania, which will significantly improve the quality of education of specialists in these fields. The increase in education effects will contribute to the increase in the number of specialists and improve the position of young people on the labor market and will affect the development of agriculture and milk processing in Tanzania. Project activities include preparing conditions for increasing the production of milk and dairy products and improving their safety and quality by increasing the potential for feed production (increasing the area of ​​irrigated crops, introducing new feed plants), increasing milk yield through more efficient feeding of cows and creating a system for purchasing milk from local producers and implementing a system for the quality assessment of milk and dairy products. The project includes the implementation of activities related to the modernization of the training base, consisting of the construction of a new teaching building, renovation and modernization of existing buildings (dairy, livestock and farm buildings) and the additional equipment for the production and evaluation of dairy products and education in this area, as well as modification of the curriculum and training of teaching staff and technical staff. In addition to education in the field of production, education in the field of marketing is also planned, aimed at improving skills in the sale of manufactured products. Modern methods of teaching students will be implemented, based on the knowledge and experience of scientific and teaching staff of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences and experts from other centers. As part of the care for the environment, it is planned to build a root treatment plant for sewage from the dairy and install photovoltaic and solar panels as an ecological source of electrical and thermal energy. The project includes activities aimed at promoting the project.
