We have completed another stage of the project implemented in Tanzania
We have completed the next stage (module 2) of the project “Improving the quality of youth education in milk processing in Tanzania by improving teaching conditions – establishing a Center of Excellence,” co-financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland under the Polish Aid program. The primary goal of the project was to increase the capacity of institutions educating youth in agriculture, milk production, and processing in Tanzania, which, as expected, will improve the quality of education for specialists in these fields. The improved educational outcomes will increase the number of specialists and improve the position of young people in the labor market, as well as the development of agriculture and milk processing in Tanzania. Project activities implemented in 2025 included: preparing conditions for increasing the production of milk and dairy products and improving their safety and quality by increasing feed production capacity, increasing milk yield through more efficient cow feeding, implementing a quality assessment system for milk and dairy products, and working on implementing pilot production of new dairy products. The activities utilized the knowledge of Polish experts in the areas of irrigation, animal husbandry, veterinary medicine, milk processing, and economics. The project included modernization of the production and training facilities, which involved modernizing existing buildings (milk processing plants and livestock buildings) and equipping them with modern equipment for teaching, production, and analytical quality assessment of dairy products. Teachers and technical staff were trained in milk processing to support production development and the subsequent education of LITA students. Construction of a single-story building for educational purposes began and was completed to its shell stage. A deep well was drilled and a tower water tank was constructed (an activity not originally included in Mod. 2). A biological wastewater treatment plant was purchased and installed for the milk processing plant and the upcoming educational building. As part of environmental protection efforts, a photovoltaic panel system (single- and two-phase) was installed, purchased in 2024, as an ecological source of electricity, a key element supporting the processing plant’s operations due to power outages. The project also carried out activities to promote the project, using websites and social media.
